First things first....

u've met me ... hopefully u will met kostas ... so lets get started with first things ...
ill try to rationalize our decision as much as possible ... this is kinda of a self-interview ....

so ... what a hacker is doing on a vespa?
well .. erhmmm... definitely not hacking... you already know how i fell in love with vespa so lets move on tho next part....
once upon a time i wanted to go to university and study something cool and make loads of money .... when i got into the university started studying hard as i liked what i was doing "ethical hacking and security system design" cool huh?
well.. it is cool.. but after learning the tricks and how things are being done and how computers work, this little bubble of unknown and excitement burst... computers are just computers ... yeah they are powerful they can do alot of stuff i love them, but i realized that i don't want to sit in-front of a monitor for the rest of my life... over the past few years i've found other things that fascinate me more than touching "inappropriately" my slutty keyboard, such as photography and writing .. so i decided after finishing my degree to start living and do things i enjoy the most.... this is where the discussion with my friend kostas, which i described in the previous post comes in... plus trips... who doesn't love trips and adventure?

ok but why now and why this blog ?
as the challenge was accepted from both of us we needed some stuff... like preparation, plans, audience (as a writer without audience, is like sex without orgasm, or as we say in greece "pitoguro xoris tzatziki"(souvlaki without tzatziki for those who have been to greece), in other words there is no point), maybe sponsors?! and everyone else to read see and enjoy through our craziness this adventure!!!!

what this thing is all about?
its all about seizing life! as i said is a chance to share with the world my love for writing, photography and vespas! dont ask my why we have choosen the Mediterranean... it was just random.... so after and during this trip ill have the chance to think, write, meet new people and places, take photographs and live without boarders for once in this life ...... maybe to have a story to tell to my children also ....

we have passion, craziness, and a computer to share with all of u ... we can tick those off the list .. but so many many many more things to tick off till this idea can even count that excists....

see you in the morning!

hello world

hello you dont know me and i dont know you .. so lets meet !
my name is basilis,
im currently studding ethical hacking (thus the name hacker-on-a-vespa came into my mind) in university of Sunderland, and I'm on my 3rd year. few days ago after i finished with my last assignment for uni i was talking with a friend named Kostas on facebook (an old friend from my hometown kalamata) who is currently living in the UK also and we were trying to find crazy stuff to do.  my first idea was to visit India for a month! but then he said its ok but not that crazy, after a mind-storm of few ... seconds the craziest thing was THERE! lets travel around the Mediterranean from Greece through Europe to Morocco Egypt Turkey and then back to Greece ( i know i missed many countries ill explain you later about the trip ) ...  and surprisingly  this wasn't crazy enough for kostas... so the next line that followed actually completed the idea...
kostas: yeah but how?
a big pose........................................
me: What about vespas?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!??!??!?!.....
the answer took less than 1 millisecond to come from him
kostas: HMmmm.... HELL YEAH!

Do not judge us yet! a little background info would help understand that we are not crazy ... WE ARE INSANE!!!

yeah but why vespas? i think kostas's saying "yes" would be even if i told him to do it on a bicycle or even with  roller skates ... ( i hope he wont read this line as this is even crazier and he might insists doing it lol )

The vespa (pre)history...
my first touch with this awesome piece of machinery was back in 2005 i was only 15 years old and while i was at my village for summer vacation  my grandfather gave me a vespa 50s (similar to the one attached to this post) and showed me how to ride it. All other guys had motorcycles from 50 to 125 cc with fancy plastics and stuff but when i ride my old 2-stroke vespa i felt like a king, it was something different i couldn't tell what but different. the first week i think i refilled its 5 liter tank 2 times per day maybe more... i didn't care about what i would eat drink or do as long as it included riding this 50cc beast. For the next 3 months this was my life and the year after that... it was love with the first sight...
i will never forget my first week! (i can't say my first time as it was more of a week ...)
my first race was against my best friend on this time yiannis who had his older brother's Yamaha Town Mate ( a 4-stroke 50cc motorcycle ) and i won! that's when the first sight love became a deeply understanding and loving relationship!

So let the madness begin !
